Programs and Services Offered

Programs

The Monterey County Health Department Clinics participate in the following programs:

  • CHDP/Gateway – for uninsured children who need immunizations or physicals.
  • Every Woman Counts – for uninsured or under-insured women 40+ who require a mammogram screening.
  • Family Pact – for patients of reproductive age who need family planning services, pap smears, STD testing & treatment, birth control. (does not cover infertility)
  • Sliding Fee Scale – uninsured or under insured patients may qualify for clinic discounts.
  • Merck Assistance Program – Uninsured or under insured patients may qualify for vaccine coverage. (does not include administration fee). Merck Vaccine Assistance program includes: human papillomavirus, measles mumps & rubella (MMR), Pneumococcal, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis A, Varicella Virus, and Zoster.
  • Esperanza Program – A temporary program providing limited coverage for specific pharmacy, laboratory and radiology services for those without insurance. Patients must be residents of Monterey County and be at or below 138% Federal Poverty Level (FPL).

The Monterey County Health Department Clinics participate in the following insurance programs:

  • Beneficiaries assigned through the Central California Alliance for Health (CCAH)
  • Medi-Cal
  • Medicare (including Medi-Cal in conjunction with other programs)

What insurances do you accept?

Central California Alliance for Health (CCAH), California Childrens Services, (CCS) Gateway, Child Health and Disability Prevention (CHDP), Every Woman Counts (EWC), Family Pact (Fam Pact).

We also offer a Sliding Fee Scale payment schedule, visit our “Billing” page for the Sliding Fee Scale schedule and application.

Do you take private/commercial insurance?

We serve patients regardless of their ability to pay and their insurance coverage status.  However, it is possible that we do not contract with your insurance plan and it will not cover your visit to our clinic.  We may bill your insurance plan on your behalf, but you will be financially responsible for your visit. Please contact your insurance company to confirm we are within network prior to your visit.

Are we accepting New Patients?

Yes we are. If you are a Central California Alliance for Health member, please contact their Member Services Department at 1-800-700-3874 to see which Clinic you will go to for care.

What are the Walk in hours for Immunizations and Urgent needs?

-Alisal Health Center (AHC) and Seaside Family Health Center (SFHC) offer walk in Immunizations

SFHC – Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:00pm

AHC – Monday – Friday 8:00am – 3:00pm

Urgent need hrs for clinics

Alisal Health Center – M,W,F -7:00am – 2:00pm, T & TH 7:00am – 3:00pm, depending on provider availability, cut off may change

SSFHC- Monday- Friday- 7:00am – 4:00pm

IM- Monday – Friday 8:00am – 3:00pm

FP/Vista- Mondays-Thursday- 8:00am – 3:00pm, Fridays 9:00am – 3:00pm

Do we offer travel vaccines?

No, we do not.

What is your late arrival policy?

If patients are late for their appointment, after one minute, we will not be able to see the patient – but the patient has the option to wait on the Walk In list for a No Show or Cancelation. Otherwise the patient can call to reschedule.

What is the timeframe for referrals and prescription refills?

Referrals are processed within 1 week. (5 business days). Prescription refills will be processed within 3 days.

How do I register for MyChart?

Patients who wish to register will be given a MyChart activation code during their clinic visit. This code will enable you to login and create your own user ID and password. If you were not given an activation code, you may call your primary care clinic to ask for one or ask to sign up during your next office visit. Can patients print ROR or consents from home?

Yes, please visit the “Patient Info/Forms” page to access frequently used forms. You may print and complete at home and bring in to the clinic at your appointment.

How do I get a hold of my doctor after working hours?

We have an answering service that will direct your call to the provider on call during that time.

Are you part of Natividad Medical Center?

The clinics are under the Monterey County Health Department, but work very closely with Natividad Medical Center.

Do you provide infertility services?

No, we do not.

Do you accept Workers Comp Insurance?

No, we do not.

Do you provide Accident Review/Examination services?

(Example: If I am in a car accident and need to have my condition assessed and documented for court or insurance purposes)

Do you offer Immigration Services physicals?

No, we do not.

Do you accept IHSS (In Home Support Services) or AIM (Access for Infants and Mothers)?

No, we do not.

What is MyChart?

MyChart offers you personalized and secure online access to portions of their medical records. It enables you to securely use the Internet to help manage and receive information about your health. With MyChart, you can use the Internet to:

  • View test results.
  • Request or cancel appointments
  • Review the date, time, and location of future appointments
  • Request prescription renewals.
  • Communicate securely with your medical Provider
  • View your health summary
  • View a re-cap summary of your past appointments
  • Access trusted health information resources
  • Download visit and health summary information to take with you to other providers or for your own records
  • Review your billing account and recent payment information (maybe…we are researching if our billing info is synced with MyChart…TBD)
How to use MyChart

Patients who wish to participate will be given a MyChart activation code during their clinic visit. This code will enable you to login and create your own user ID and password. If you were not given an activation code, you may call your primary care clinic to ask for one or ask to sign up during your next office visit.

Who can sign up for MyChart?

MyChart is available for adults age 18 and older. Additionally teens (12-17) can have access to their own MyChart account.

Can you send me a new access code as I have lost it, let it expire or did not receive it?

Contact your provider’s office and ask for MyChart assistance.

My access code does not work, what should I do?

For your security, your access code expires after 60 days and is no longer valid after the first time you use it. If it has expired, please contact your provider’s office.

I forgot my password. What should I do?

You may click the “Forgot password” link on the sign-in page to reset your password online.
